Jesus w. fallen man

In the field of medicine the term fester is used to describe an infected wound that has been left unattended.  In the same manner, seeds of pain will sprout and grow into something. For some, this seed is fed by unforgiveness and bitterness, which may grow into a deadly act.

Sessions in Pain pg. 53

Innate to our humanity,  is the fact that the things that hurt us will eventually come to the surface if they are not dealt with. We see it in the biology of our bodies and we see it in the psychology of our minds. We will deal with our pain in one manner or another. The infection of our wounded heart will grow until it spills over into all areas of our lives – consciously or subconsciously, it will spill. The only remedy to our festering heart is the lancing of the painful abscess by the Great Physician. But will you allow Him to come near to your hurting wound?

Behold, He stands at the door and knocks, and knocks, and knocks!
